A conference which addresses the mental health needs of vulnerable groups
All young people today face challenges, for example, through bullying, anti-social behaviour, homophobic attitudes, challenging behaviour in schools, unhealthy life styles and choices. Vulnerable individuals and groups face particular challenges.
This Conference will consider how schools, families and society are responding to these challenges. Workshops will focus on current interventions and key issues relating to promoting children and young people’s mental and emotional health and well-being, as well as visions for the future. We hope this conference will provide school staff and those who work with schools, with the information they need to meet the needs of these children and young people.
Keynote presentations from: "Changing perspectives on mental health" Dr John Coleman, Senior Research Fellow, Department of Education, University of Oxford
"Making a difference when all else fails" Julia Bird, Education Consultant & Psychotherapist
