Shropshire County Council wants to know which is the favourite book written by or about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people or experience. You can vote at any of the County Libraries using a voting slip they will give you or you can vote on-line. The closing date is 31.01.08
Shropshire County Council with Age Concern, Shropshire and Telford, is showing the above film, followed by a discussion of LGBT people with people working with older people.
It is a film of the play of the same name, based on the oral testimonies of LGB people from the 1940s to the 1980s. A really facinating and interesting production.

Derek Munn, Director of Public Affairs at Stonewall (a lobbying group for gay, lesbian and bisexual rights) will be giving a lecture on LGBT history to a range of professionals working with young people and talking about issues affecting them.
Sandwell's LGBT youth forum 'shOUT' are hosting a film night and celebration for young people from Forums and youth provisions around Sandwell. The aim of the evening is to raise the issue of LGBT rights and to celebrate the work of the group.

The Herbert, Coventry's Museum, Gallery and Archive, is launching a project to collect the LGBT history of Coventry. To start this we are holding an informal meeting where, over tea and a slice of cake or tart, we can decide what to do over the coming year. Whether you remember the Christmas lights at the Stonebridge 'magic' roundabout, Chris Smith MP coming out in Rugby, or the founding of Lesbian Line and Coventry Friend or if you want to help collect this history please come along.
Wolverhampton’s biggest ever Lesbian, gay, bisexual and Transgendered (LGB&T) event – and it’s FREE! Sexual health and HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust /(THT/) is holding a Health and Wellbeing Show aimed at the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered /(LGB&T/) community on Saturday 23 February 2008 from 12pm – 5pm at the Lighthouse Arts Centre, in Wolverhampton. The show coincides with LGBT History Month which aims to raise awareness about the histories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. THT is working in partnership with Wolverhampton LGBT Network, Wolverhampton Network Consortium and Gender Matters to bring together local support groups to showcase a range of services available to LGB&T people in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. The Health and Wellbeing show is free and open to anyone from or who supports the LGB&T community in Wolverhampton. Over 30 stands will be at the show offering information on local LGBT groups, educational opportunities as well as free taster sessions and seminars on community safety, transgender awareness, counselling, psychotherapy, holistic therapies and yoga. An LGBT history month exhibition will be displayed along with works from local LGBT groups. There will be children’s activities including children’s yoga, as well as entertainment provided by Zip Theatre. Free films will be shown in the Lighthouse cinema including: Priscilla Queen of the Desert (1.00pm), Nina's Heavenly Delights (1.15pm), Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop cafe (3.20pm) and Brokeback Mountain (3.40pm).
