Pink Professions. Four famous LGBT people for each profession. From artists and actors to scientists and serial killers. From soldiers and skaters to clerics and cartoons.
The Older Generation. A display of famous older LGBT people and also local people over 50 who had to wait many years before Civil Partnerships were permitted.
The launch of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History month will be held in the Atrium at Suffolk New College, Ipswich on Monday 1st February 2010. The launch will commence at 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. There will be a small number of speakers, and then live music and dance by Suffolk New College Performing Arts students. A Community Village will display information from a number of local and national organisations committed to LGBT equality. A vegetarian buffet and refreshments will be provided. The event is expected to close at 8pm.
LGBT History Month is being organised in partnership with Suffolk New College, Suffolk Constabulary, Suffolk County Council, Ipswich Borough Council, Outreach Youth, and the Suffolk Gay and Lesbian Helpline.

Come and take part in an official launch of Cambridge's LGBT history month. Anotinette Jackson, CEO for Cambridge City Council will be officially launching events with the raising of the rainbow flag along with a market place of organisations supporting the LGBT community. Buffet lunch will be provided
This is a chance for people to come together in worship. Open to people of any faith, gender or sexuality, but with an appreciation of the sacred in life.
Brief Encounters is an exciting Theatre in Education project designed for Key Stage 4 and 5 students. It consists of a 40 minute play written and performed by young members of the LGBTQ community and follows a group of young people as they transition from school to their adult lives. It explores themes of gender identity and sexual orientation and focusses on open discussion of how these themes impact the lives of all young people. The play celebrates difference, diversity and understanding on a multitude of levels. Accompanying the performance is a workshop unpicking the themes of the play using both discussion drama techniques and a information and follow up pack for teachers.
The Museum of London and Chroma Journal are running Write Queer London for the second year - send us your fact, fiction and poetry about gay life in the city. The Kingston Council staff group for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) individuals is being launched now to coincide with the national LGBT history month. The Council's staff group will act as both peer support for LGBT staff and provide a point of reference for the Council when considering how local services delivered affect this community.
This fascinating exhibition depicting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans history of the East End will be touring around venues in Tower Hamlets during February.
Throughout February an exhibition of original materials from Tower Hamlets' archives and local history library collections reflecting LGBT histories in the East End. On display in the exhibition cases on the first floor during opening hours.
