Cinderella!

UCL (University College London)students' Union first LGBT pantomime. Romance, laughter and not a dry seat in the house as they romp their way through their very own take on Cinderella. Tickets £6 or £4 concessions.

‘1967 and All That’ (until 18th March)
A fascinating exhibition of magnified press items covering lesbian and gay issues over the past 40 years. Offering an educational insight into the covert and symbiotic relationship between the press and public opinion when lesbian and gay rights and lifestyles are involved.

Other info: “The Wolfenden Committee had recommended that male homosexuality be decriminalised 10 years previously, in 1957, so why did it all take so long to me implemented? ‘1967 and All That’ shows how the press did not simply report on the progress of the Wolfenden recommendations, it actually helped to shape the debate.” The unique display will be launched on the 1st of February  supported by guest speakers. The exhibition will be open to the public from the 2nd February and will run until the 18th March.  Entry is free.

LGBT History Display
A display including an illustrated timeline of events since 1967 - with a Nottingham focus. A Powerpoint presentation of 530 famous LGBT faces will be shown.  In attendance will be local historian Tony Bilton

Film:  The Cockettes
A night devoted to the Cockettes -  a flamboyant ensemble of hippies ( including gay men and women) who decked themselves out in gender-bending drag and tons of glitter for a series of legendary midnight musicals at the palace theatre in Long Beach, LA. Evolving into bigger, wilder, more lavish productions their productions soon became not-to-be missed events in San Francisco.

Launch of LGBT History Month in Manchester
Launch of history month with guest speakers discussing the importance of recognising LGBT history. Speakers include Manchester Libraries, National Museums Liverpool and Local Lead Councillors on Lesbian and Gay issues.
