WHAT IS GAY FICTION? (Brighton)

From James Baldwin to Alan Hollinghurst, from Gertrude Stein to Sarah Waters, gay and lesbian writers have made a prolific and often groundbreaking contribution to the canon of literature, capturing the gay and lesbian experience for each new generation. Further details below.

UWB Pride Speak Easy, Bangor

An opportunity for lgbt students at the University of Wales, Bangor to express themselves in an intimate, comfortable, open minded and individual space. The event will feature an exhibition of lgbt liberation and campaigning throughout history and will enhance the positive attitudes we wish to embrace in the Speak Easy.

OUT in Camden 2, London

Following Camden’s first successful OUT in Camden event, we are organising another event at 12.30pm on Tuesday 21 February in the Council Chamber at Camden Town Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Speakers will include:

V. G. Lee - a novelist and poet of Anglo-Indian descent. Author of Woman in Beige and Comedienne. Her novel Diary of a Provincial Lesbian will be published by Onlywoman Press in February 2006.

Rev'd Jide Macauley - a Nigerian ordained and certified clergy with Metropolitan Community Churches. He is the author of Pocket Devotional for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Christians.

G. Tarawa - a gay professional who works tirelessly to bridge the gap between race and sexual orientation.

Cllr Raj Chada - the Leader of the Council will chair the event.
