Schools Out National Conference (London)

A day of discussions and workshops based around LGBT issues in education, with guest speakers. The theme is yet to be announced but LGBT History Month will be fundamental to the planning. Finishes with a brief AGM. More details below.

‘Queer is Here’ exhibition (until March 5th) (London)

Unveiling highlights from the Museum of London collection, the display focuses on issues affecting London’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered communities during the past 30 years, including gay activism, health, coming out and bullying in schools. It also celebrates queer culture through Gay Pride and the new civil partnerships. Come and see Peter Marshall’s dynamic black and white photographs capturing a decade of the annual London Gay Pride event, and listen to the life stories of gay and lesbian Londoners. Admission is free. The exhibition will be located in the museum foyer.

‘Queer London’ Study Day (London)

LGBT History Drop-in (Brighton)

Find out about Brighton's fascinating LGBT history, featuring photographs, documents, newspapers, books and ephemera from the collections of the Brighton History Centre. A chance to browse, meet staff and learn how to use the Centre's archives and facilities. Free.

Celebration of Gay and Lesbian History and Culture (Todmorden)

A celebration of gay and lesbian writings hosted by James Nash. Guests include acclaimed writer Jackie Kay and Jane Czszselska the editor of Diva magazine. There will also be a display based on Anne Lister of Shibden Hall, Halifax, who lived between 1791 and 1840 and recorded her lesbian affairs, life and travels in her personal diaries. Refreshments will be provided.

Dundee Storytelling with OurStory Scotland

This event, to celebrate LGBT History Month in Dundee, will provide the opportunity to share some stories, tell some tales, listen to episodes in our history, and exchange ideas for further storytelling events this year. And if you have any old photographs or items that evoke our queer past, bring them along too. The event is organised by OurStory Scotland, a recognised Scottish charity devoted to collecting, archiving and presenting the stories of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Scotland. You may just want to listen, or you may want to tell, but just by being there you’ll be sharing in all our stories.
