After the march in 1980, marchers were dissembling in Malet Street, making their way into the University of London Union building for the party. Police picked out one marcher who had a plastic knife in his hat (don’t ask…) and charged him with having an offensive weapon. There was a bit of a fracas that followed, ending in several arrests.
