Outburst UK : Black Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival
Outburst UK

“Bursting with Pride”

The first annual Outburst UK Black Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival takes place on Saturday, 25 August 2007 in Vauxhall, south London and will elevate Outburst to being a key player in an even more polished Pride Festival in 2008.

The festival will be held at the Renaissance Rooms and Terrace. This venue is known as one of London ’s best kept secrets and hosts some of the biggest events that London has to offer. With 3 rooms well laid out with Funktion one (state of the art sound) system throughout and excellent lighting, it also offers a large outside terrace that runs the length of the venue.

The day will run from Midday till 7pm after which we will continue the party at the Chocolate Lounge, Kennigton from 10pm till 3am.  After-party is free with wristband.

Headlining on the main stage is Angie Brown, Ashley Gayle and Rowetta from the X Factor series, 1980’s Disco diva Carol Jiani, UK Lesbian Rapper Mz Fontaine and Russell Marcell, the featured artist for one of the UK's world leading house music producers and Djs', THE HOXTON WHORES.  In addition there will be 5 DJs on rotation with 12 new rising and eager performers consisting of singers, dancers, a rap artist, the spoken word, a fashion show, plus community and food stalls catering for the African, Caribbean and European taste buds.

The three rooms will consist of the Brenda Fassie Room, playing R+B, Hip Hop, African Beats, Reggae, Soca and Bashment, the Brian Williamson Room, playing Classics, Soul, Reggae, Funky House, Latin beats, etc., and the Justin Fashanu VIP Lounge with it’s own entertainment and bar.  On the terrace there will be stalls, chill out area and a café.  All private, secluded and safe.

The festival will then have a permanent home on the third Saturday of July every year, starting on the 19th July 2008. Details of the venue will be announced later this year.

Tickets for general admission is £10 and VIP tickets will be £30 and includes: Fully air-conditioned VIP Lounge, Free Champagne, Entertainment, Food and Outburst UK T-Shirt.

Tickets are available at Clone Zone, Compton Street , Soho and Prowler Stores, Soho and on line at www.outburstfestival.org
